Your maps and controls belong to your local Minecraft profile.

For an ordinary CurseForge version update, update the existing profile and keep its
settings. Arthercord 2.2 never ships anybody's personal maps or overwrites them.
The bundled helper migrates known old default shortcut conflicts once and preserves
custom shortcuts, graphics, sounds and other preferences. Its original options
backup is config/arthercord-client/options-before-2.2.txt.

Before deleting/reimporting the entire profile, CLOSE MINECRAFT and back up these:
  options.txt
  xaero/ (current maps and waypoints)
  config/xaero/ (current Xaero settings)
XaeroWaypoints/ (older Xaero versions, if present)
XaeroWorldMap/ (older Xaero versions, if present)

Optional Windows portable tool: place "Preserve Arthercord Settings.ps1" in the
profile folder. Right-click it -> Run with PowerShell to create a local backup in
Documents/Arthercord Player Backups. Minecraft must be closed for a consistent
map snapshot. No files are uploaded anywhere. The tool intentionally excludes
server lists, account files, logs, screenshots, saves and mods.

Restore through PowerShell after putting the script in the new profile:
& '.\Preserve Arthercord Settings.ps1' -Mode Restore -Archive 'FULL BACKUP ZIP PATH'

Restore keeps every existing destination file by default. For a fresh import whose
default settings you want to replace with your personal preferences, add
-ReplaceSettings. Replaced preference files receive another local backup first.
Existing map files are ALWAYS kept, even with that switch. For a map directory
that already contains newer progress, retain it and merge only missing data.

Limits: 512 MB total, 20,000 files, 64 MB per file. For larger maps, copy the known
map folders manually while Minecraft is closed. This is local preservation,
not server/cloud sync, and requires keeping the backup if deleting the profile.
